For many, healing crystals can be an intimidating subject or seem like a fad. But it seems crystal healing is a rapidly growing self-care trend, sworn to reduce stress and anxiety. So how are they used improve wellbeing and do they actually work?

What is Crystal Healing?

Social media has become obsessed with crystals – just try searching ‘#crystaltok’ on tiktok! To some it might seem like only fashion influencers in L.A engage in crystal healing, but this practice dates back to Ancient Egypt, where crystals were used for protection and health and to ward off negative energy. Today many people still swear by the spiritual benefits.

Crystal healing is an alternative therapy that is supposed to tap into natural healing energy. Healing crystals have a stable and unchanging energy field, very unlike the unstable energy field of the human body. This contrast in energy means crystals are often used to bring harmony and peace to the owner.

Many celebrities also advocate the benefits of crystal healing. Adele has spoken about using crystals before performing to calm her stage fright, and Naomi Campbell is sworn to carry crystals with her whenever she travels.

Benefits of Crystal Healing & Grounding Techniques

Crystal healing focuses mainly on improving mental wellbeing; increasing feelings of positivity, focus, and tranquillity to relieve us of anxiety and stresses.  They can also be used to put you in a state of gratitude.

Often when we feel overwhelmed we look to ways to bring us back to the present in order to soothe stress. Grounding techniques are ways to bring us back into reality and aim to soothe anxieties by doing so. Crystals healing has risen in popularity as a grounding technique. Here are some other grounding techniques to help bring you into the present:
