Why healthy eating is important, and how it can be managed in the corporate world

Healthy eating plays a major role in maintaining your well-being, particularly at work when your mind is constantly occupied, food isn’t always on the agenda. However, if you don’t eat right throughout the day it can really have a negative effect on your physical and mental wellbeing. Here are some of our tips on how to maintain some healthier eating habits in the corporate world.

Encourage people to take a proper lunch break.

Sometimes in the busy corporate world, it’s easy to skip lunch now and again. However, working on a poorly fuelled stomach usually leads to getting less and/or lower quality work done. If you’re an employer it’s crucial to encourage the importance of a proper break in the day to eat. Make sure people are eating right and productivity is bound to skyrocket.

Provide healthy food options.

If your place of work has a canteen, make sure the food on offer has the nutrients people need. Give people incentives to eat healthy. Offer employees discounts or lunch coupons to healthy places to eat near the office. the link between gut and mental health is huge so making sure everyone in the office has a happy gut will lead to a happier more motivated workforce!

Avoid Snacking / Replace nasty snacks with healthier ones.

When in the office, it can be tempting to just snack rather than eat a proper meal. This can really take a toll on your well-being if you’re not putting the right things in your body.
