GIFT GUIDE: 5 Gifts to Send to Someone with Covid

Know someone who’s isolating over Christmas due to a positive covid test and can’t be with their loved ones? The team at Brown Paper Packages have had our own experiences of isolating these past few weeks; that’s why we’ve put together this gift guide. A heartfelt gift will be a great way to send someone a socially distanced hug.

1.Send them some pre-prepared meals

We all know the last thing we want to do when we’re poorly is cook. Take away that unnecessary stress and send your loved one a set of pre-prepared meals. There are plenty of great healthy ready meal providers such as Chefly, The Good Prep and Love Yourself. Just to name a few. Having meals delivered will save your loved one having to organise online grocery shopping and will provide more recovery time!

2. Arrange Virtual Movie Nights

Isolating is lonely, and simple things like arranging to watch a movie together (virtually) and calling each other up after to discuss it can transform a boring evening into a virtual trip out with friends.

Want to watch a film at the same time? Teleparty allows multiple people in different locations to stream the same shows at the same time.

Maybe even make it part of your routine, aim to watch one episode of a tv series every night together - so they have something to look forward to.

 3. A streaming service subscription

Let's face it, we all love a good Netflix day. Why not treat your loved one to a streaming service such as Disney+. Jam-packed with great tv shows and movies, it’ll be a great way for them to relax and hopefully be swept away by movie magic for a couple of hours. It’ll provide a much-needed break from the monotony of isolating.

4. Book them into an online taster class

This could be a great way for your loved one to relax and take their mind off things? Have they always wanted to have a go at learning British Sign Language, book them into a free taster session here. Have they always fancied themselves as a bit of a culinary extraordinare? Book them an online class run by Jamie Oliver's top chefs.

5. A care package to cope with their symptoms

We’ve all heard about how physically draining covid can be, and if you’re lucky you’ll only get flu like symptoms. At Brown Paper Packages we offer our cold and flu care package, packed with lots of goodies to help ease their sniffles.

Is boredom their main symptom? We also offer a brilliant distraction care package, full of puzzles, books and snacks to help your loved one survive isolation.

So there you have it, here’s a list of a few simple things you can do for someone isolating with covid. Got your own ideas? Tag us on social media using the #lifelift and tell us how you’ve helped someone diagnosed with covid.
