We love to showcase UK brands, why did you launch your business?
I launched Green & Heath in February 2020 after obsessing over Poldark and Downton Abbey on maternity leave with my first child. I wanted to be able to decorate my own home with the splendour I was seeing on screen but all the patterns and prints I found felt stuffy and nostalgic. Concerned with quality and provenance and equipped with UK textile manufacturing experience, Green & Heath was born.
Tell us a bit more about your brand?
As well as homewares, Green & Heath now sells a range of rest and relax products including eye masks, wheat warmers and toiletries cases as well as beds, toys and bow ties for pets and a beautiful range of Christmas decorations in timeless William Morris prints. (Am I allowed to mention the C-Word in March?!) We're constantly looking at new products to complement our range as well as new patterns that we'd love to adorn our homes with.
What gives your customers the feel-good factor?
Our products are made to last; designed and made slowly with love and care, not mass produced in a factory overseas. We want our customers to love our pieces for years, even decades and be passed down to the next generation. We proudly support British manufacturing. All our products are designed and handmade in the UK by a dedicated team of skilled artisans - slowly and with love.
Tell us about your eco credentials?
We source our materials locally wherever possible, so that we’re investing money back into our community. This also means that our products come with zero air miles, helping to keep our emissions low. Our fabrics are free from harmful chemicals that damage the environment, and our packaging is sustainably sourced. Additionally, all our cushions and lap trays are plumped with 100% British wool, the most eco-friendly filling available.
If you could send a Brown Paper Package to anyone, who would it be?
Well with Mother's Day just round the corner I'd have to say my mum and my mother-in-law too! Being a mum to two young children myself has given me a newfound appreciation of all they do for me and our family. They both deserve a treat!
Finally, we love to promote doing something to give you a life lift, what’s your life-lift tip?
Be more selfish and say no! I think there's so much pressure to be everywhere and do everything and it means we stay busy, all the time. I'm trying to say no more often so that I can spend more time doing the things I love and that bring joy to my life.
